How Does it Work?

Guestroom Network maintains a database of information

...which the members provide upon signup, and makes it available in public form. Members' identities are not disclosed to each other until they both agree. After joining Guestroom Network, the new member may request the privileges of a guest or begin to build credits as a host.

Guestroom Network provides members with advanced tools to locate each other

Guestroom Network sorts members by standard criterion (i.e. age, lifestyles, vocations, hobbies, interests, quality and level of accommodation), among many others. The general public can also search the database, but are not given any contact information until they are signed up as members.

Guestroom Network rates members' accommodations

Accommodations receive a rating out of 100 on sign up, and are constantly refined by "Host Rating Forms" submitted by each guest after a stay. The better your rating, the better accommodation options you have as a guest.

Guestroom Network provides information to inquiring travelers

Member submits "Request for Contact" by potential hosts. Database searches only reveal matches up to 20 rating points higher than the searching member. This feature helps protect members, and allows better and more compatible matches between members.

Guestroom Network puts the parties in contact with each other, if they choose

Guestroom Network contacts the host member and advises them that member #1234, for example, wishes contact with them to request a stay on the night of ___ for ____ people. The host then reviews the member profile information on the requesting member and emails Guestroom Network informing them that they either do not wish contact with the member, or that they agree to speak to the member; and if they are comfortable, will allow a stay to take place. Guestroom Network emails the hosts email address to the guest. At this point, they contact each other to determine if they will agree to the stay.

Guestroom Network receives payment only for a successful contact

If the host and guest decide to do the stay the Guest submits a payment to Guestroom Network of US$4.00 for the service charge prior to the stay and they continue with the arrangements. The host ensures that the Guest has paid the service charge so he can claim the credit from Guestroom Network.

Hosts and guests make their own arrangements.

The members do the stayover, as many nights as they wish. However, the host receives credits for a stay only for the number of nights that Guestroom Network has received the service charge. Host members are reminded that they will receive an email from Guestroom Network telling them if the service charge has been received. If they don't get an email, Guestroom Network has not received payment, and they should not allow the stay to take place. Many long term contacts, friendships and homestays are created in this manner!

Guestroom Network Keeps track of Members' debits and credits.

Each stay results in Host earning credits and Guest using credits. Guestroom Network records and displays the members' records so you know how many stays you are entitled to with Guestroom Network. Look in "View My Account"

It works!

This truly is a shift in the travel lodging paradigm. Both guests and hosts win by receiving free lodging anywhere in the world where another member lives, as well as creating new friendships and contacts in all corners of the globe. If paying $75 to $200 per night to stay in a hotel has kept you from traveling as much as you'd like, then what is your excuse now?
